Walking tour of the old and new town of Rhodes.

(Approximately 3 hours)

We start our tour from the port or from your hotel (if it is somewhere close to the town center) or we can even meet outside the Old town. We have the chance to see together the ports and the strong walls of the medieval castle-town, the best preserved medieval castle of Europe, a world’s heritage monument and the home-town of about 6000 Greeks who live and work there. Our stroll inside the walls will give you the feeling that you go back in time as everything there is so well preserved.

We’ll walk together through narrow streets, you’ll see original buildings dating back to the fifteen or fourteen century, or even older than that, visit one of the museums, see the streetΒ of the knights, the moats and then walk (if ‘re not tired) until the modern town’s center to see all the impressive buildings standing there for over 90 years, the many cafes, the port of Mandraki with all the vessels that can give you daily trips to the neighboring islands and the cathedral of Rhodes, the Greek Orthodox church of the Annunciation.

Our tour will end at the entrance of Mandraki port, where you can see the known statues of the rhodian dama-dama deer and where according to tradition, the famous statue of Colossus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world had once been set up. It is a beautiful tour and you’ve got the best company for that! Us! We’ll give you historical details, show you our home town, talk to you about the modern life style, the people of the island and of course show you the best places that you can get fantastic pictures!

Our tour can end next to the shopping area of the modern town where you can later pay a visit on your own or we can walk you back. Shops in the modern town are open 09.00-13.30 and 16.30-21.00 the medieval’s town shopping area is open all day long!

Everything is in a walking distance of no more than half an hour.
We’d love to see you there!
